Ameera Abraham is the CEO and Spa Director at The Nail Bar, a luxury nail spa and wellness centre located in Abuja. At the age of 22, she introduced the Abuja population to the art of professional nail care in March 2011 and has since then been recognised as a nail and beauty connoisseur. In 2013, The Nail Bar was awarded Beauty Establishment of the Year at The Abuja YoungEntrepreneur Awards. Abraham most recently launched Amali Cosmetics, a one step professional gel polish alongside other professional nail care products under the umbrella of The Nail Bar in January 2015. Each product in the Amali range was researched and developed by Ameera as she holds an advanced diploma in Natural Skin Care. She holds a BA in Politics and International Relations from Royal Holloway, University of London. In addition to this she is a qualified aesthetician with specialization in the art of nail care. Due to her love for beauty, she has developed a keen interest in organic skincare, nail and hair care products. This stemmed from her dealing with acne prone/problematic skin and hair loss.She has spent a significant amount of time researching and producing handmade organic and natural alternative beauty solutions. She is very passionate about pushing boundaries and strives to set trends rather than follow them. In addition to this she also provides spa consulting services ranging from program and menu development to operating procedures. In her spare time, Ameera enjoys reading, swimming and volunteering for charity work. As a Christian she has been exposed to being actively involved in the efforts to assist the less privileged in numerous ways that go beyond financial assistance with various groups in Church. Outside of the church, she is particularly interested in women and children's rights. She is passionate about enlightening and empowering women in their various fields of life, ranging from their rights and responsibilities within the home to the work place. She currently offers a trainee scheme at The Nail Bar that trains 5 ladies a year as beauticians with part time work placements.
Simone started his career on cruise ships as a Fitness Director and then worked his way up to spa management within only 1 year. He participated on the inauguration of two ships and managed the spa and fitness operations of seven more after that. On top of his experience onboard he decided to develop his skills working in the UK and Australia before moving to Africa where he is now managing the startup and opening of Tilla Health Club in Addis Ababa, where Simone is applying his innovative and perceptive leadership and analytical abilities for the development and growth of the spa and wellness industry in Ethiopia. He now dedicates his time to the development of SWAA on the Executive Committee.
